all about me: charlotte jackson |
My name is Charlotte Jackson. I married Dave in 1994 and we
have 2 daughters. Alexandria Rebecca was born in 1997 and Georgina
Caitlin Hannah in 2000. We all live in the town of Hinckley, in Leicestershire,
with the rest of our family: our dog Cleo and our cats Alfie and Cloud. I work
in a supermarket cafe, which I've been doing since 2004. Other employment I've
enjoyed(?) include being bar maid, a care assistant in both a Psychiatric Hospital
and Nursing Home. I've even worked on an engineering factory production line. |

Away from work I am also involved with the scouting movement being an 'Akela'
for my local Cub Pack, and I am on the Committee for the Leicestershire Real Nappy
Network, helping to promote all cloth nappies throughout the county.
I started using cloth nappies part time on Alexandria after she started
to leak out of her disposable nappies at night. At the time I used 'terry squares'
and plastic pants. When I had Georgina, I intended to use terries once she was
big enough to fit into plastic pants. Then I discovered the two piece cloth system
and personally preferred this to other cloth systems, so decided to use these with
Georgina. I now use cloth nappies full time and only use disposables if I really
have no other choice.
Having been a regular on cloth nappy forums and websites, and also
knowing some of the people who designed and made their own nappy, I
decided that I could do that myself. A friend needed a specific type of nappy
that wasn't available so I took it upon myself to design a nappy that was
practicable for her needs. That is how the
stuffie™ nappy came about. |
